As for the technicalities... This layout features artwork from the artbook series Duel Dolls by Tinkle. It was created with the help of Adobe Photoshop CS2, with a tables code, generated in Adobe Imageready (which was then later edited in Notepad). It is best viewed in a screen resolution of 1024*768 and up, but can be viewed in 800*600 screens as well. It was created by Harper.

As for the designing process... Carinae was terribly fun to design to be honest and I feel I've also received a decent turnout with this one. And it taught me what I've been doing wrong in terms of designing. You see, I go into Photoshop with a preconceived format of how something is going to look. Thus, I set myself up for expectations I never live up to in the end. So I tried something different here.
I opened up a canvas without a layout sketched in my head and proceeded to yank out a few ideas I've always wanted to try with layouts. From there, I eventually ended up with an outcome I enjoy. I especially love the colors here since it's not quite blue, and it features my favorite color: purple. The only thing that really bums me out about this layout is that the text underneath the title isn't readable. It's actually the first quatrain of the poem "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes" by Francis Bourdillon. (So I featured it in the blockquote.)

As for the title... It is actually a reference to Eta Carinae, a stellar system in the Carina constellation. I finished this layout at 2:00 a.m. so I figured an astronomical title, relating to stars, would be appropriate. It relates to "the Night Has a Thousand Eyes" because of this.

Testing the Text

The following is a presentation of text in a blockquote, as bolded, as italicized, as underlined, and as hyperlinked. All is formatted in the CSS and controlled by their respective tags.

Installation

Here's an extremely brief guide to installing a layout. If you have any further questions, feel free to head over to Anxiety's contact page and ask them.

• First, download the file from the main layout page.
• Upload the zip file to your server and unzip the files.
• Next, open the html page and edit the designated areas, like the navigation, content area, and introduction box (if there is one). And you're all done.
