frame of reference

This layout features Chii from the manga Chobits by CLAMP. It was created with the help of Adobe Photoshop CS2, with a tables code, generated in Adobe Imageready (which was then later edited in Notepad). It is best viewed in a screen resolution of 1024*768 and up, but can be viewed in 800*600 screens as well. It was created by Harper.

Yeah, I know I said in Mercurial that it would be the last of my "blue phase" but I couldn't help myself with this one. It just added such vibrancy to everything that it was a difficult thing to set aside when I knew it could've made everything so much better. Therefore I opted to throw in the blue.
In the designing process of this one, I wanted to do something more simplistic and somewhat blendy since its not something I do often. I simply started coloring the image and then decided to make it into a layout. The techniques I used, as well as resources, mostly consisted of a couple brushes and/or icon textures. So in essence, this layout can be considered to be one giant icon? IDK. All I know is that I really like this one despite the, at times, overbearing simplicity.
And as a sitenote: this layout was the only one where I decided I'd redesign it while I was in the middle of the coding stage. Previously, the layout had two Chii's and was left aligned. To me, it looked way too plain since it looked small with the additional image. However, I took it out and then redesigned around the other Chii and was able to make it rely on a center alignment instead. All in all, I'm really satisfied with it. The redesign was definitely worth it.

Installation

Here's an extremely brief guide to installing a layout. If you have any further questions, feel free to head over to Anxiety's contact page and ask them.
  • First, download the file from the main layout page.
  • Upload the zip file to your server and unzip the files.
  • Next, open the html page and edit the designated areas, like the navigation, content area, and introduction box (if there is one). And you're all done.
